Newsletter Highlights
Welcome to a special Thursday edition of the Portland wine events newsletter! With the 4th of July landing on a Friday this year, many local wine shops are either skipping their usual tastings or closing for the weekend. I’m sending this out a day early so you don’t miss the limited Thursday events still on the calendar.
Looking for a wine bar that will be open all weekend? Head to Daydream, they’ve got a full lineup of DJs, wine, and pop-ups to keep things lively.
And even if you’re not planning to attend a tasting, it’s a great time to swing by your favorite wine shop today and stock up before the long weekend begins!

• Thursday, July 3rd, from 4 to 9 pm: Natty’s Wine Bar pop-up in the Landmass tasting room on NE Fremont. A lesbian wine bar with food by Llena
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 4 to 7 pm: The Pink, the White, and the Bubbly tasting at Blackbird Wine Shop
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 4 to 10 pm: Bubbles tasting at Company
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 4 to 10 pm: First Thursday at Fancy Baby. They’ll be opening big bottles of bubbles next to the Pearl District’s First Thursday street fair
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 5 to 10 pm: Burgundy Thursday at Heavenly Creatures, featuring special glass pours
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 7 to 10 pm: Omari Jazz and Quickly Quickly spinning DJ sets at Daydream (Techno, DNB, House, Dance)
• Thursday, July 3rd, from 5 to 7 pm: Red, White, and Bubs with Michael Lundeen at Liner & Elsen, featuring all sparkling wines from the Willamette Valley

• Saturday, July 5th, from 12 to 4 pm: Ocean Wines tasting at Liner & Elsen
• Saturday, July 5th, from 6 to 8 pm: Andres Kintero spinning DJ sets at Daydream (Deep House, Tech, Minimal, Dub)
Sunday, July 6th
• Sunday, July 6th, at 4 pm: Summer Artists Market at Living Room Wines
• Sunday, July 6th, from 2 pm to sold out: Machetes pop up at Daydream
• Sunday, July 6th, from 5 to 8 pm: Live music at Naso featuring Nova Knutson
Full week flights: Every week, Pairings Wine Shop and Bar pours a special flight paired to something in pop culture. Through July 13th, the flight will feature the Pairings community’s 13 favorite Taylor Swift songs (as voted on by previous participants). Then, starting July 14th, the flight will be paired to The Sex Lives of College Girls, with a mini-flight paired to Love Island contestants.
Upcoming Special Events:
Cardwell Hill Summer Concert: July 4th from 6 to 8 pm in Philomath. Live music and wine in support of the Old Mill Center, part of their annual summer series.
3 Goats Vineyard BBQ & Axe Throwing: July 4th from 10 am to 4 pm in Hillsboro. A festive day of wine tasting, Fat Baby BBQ, and Blue Ox axe throwing at the vineyard.
Ricochet et. al Summer Pop-Up: July 6th from noon to 6 pm in McMinnville. Featuring wines from Throughline, as part of Ricochet’s rotating summer series highlighting local favorites.
Alt Wine Remixed: July 12th from 6 to 9:30 pm in McMinnville. A mini-version of the Alt Wine Festival in party form! Purchase tickets here.
Method Oregon: July 26th at Domaine Willamette. Celebrate Oregon sparkling wine pioneers with 20+ producers and paired bites. Check it out and purchase tickets here.
Recurring Weeknight Tastings
Parallel Wine Bar: Test your skills with a blind tasting flight every Sunday.
Wine Wednesday at Negociant: A themed tasting in their back room. I highly recommend going early to catch their oyster happy hour—some of the best in town and the perfect match for a crisp white wine or bubbles.
Wine Wednesday at Living Room Wines: Sometimes, it’s a featured winemaker or import company; other times, it’s a casual (and often free) tasting. Either way, it’s always a great midweek stop for discovering something new.
Burgundy Thursday at Heavenly Creatures: Every Thursday, the fantastic team at Heavenly Creatures pours two or three standout Burgundies by the glass. Whether it's a renowned winemaker or a legendary vineyard site, you’re in for something special.
Company: Most Thursdays, this cozy spot just off Belmont hosts winemaker-led tastings. They also have music nights and reading events—definitely worth checking out!
Mayfly: This bar near Kenton Park in North Portland has something happening every night from Tuesday to Sunday. Keep an eye out for their next wine-tasting event!
