Hello inquisitive wine drinkers,
Welcome to the weekly weekend wine events newsletter! Every Friday, this newsletter helps you plan your weekend around wine: tastings, winemaker dinners, pairings, festivals, and everything in between, both in Portland and out in wine country.
None of this happens without the Portland wine community itself. The businesses, shops, and winemakers who share their events with me make this newsletter possible. I am the publisher, but it is truly a community effort to bring this all together.
Word of mouth is how this newsletter grows. If you know someone who’d enjoy it in their inbox each week, I’d really appreciate you sharing it with them. Also, if you know of any local wine organizations or businesses that you think would be interested in this work, please share it with them too.
In this newsletter you’ll find:
Newsletter Highlights
There is a ton to do around Portland this weekend, including two new wine experiences that I got a first peek at this last week. Rubato Studio, the new tasting space for Rubato Wines, is now open for reservations. Located in the industrial space on SE Salmon, the bright, intimate space feels like Kenzie and Sam’s living room, complete with cozy low tables, colorful artwork and flowers, and a stereo system worthy of a DJ. They’re pouring the full Rubato lineup alongside a selection of bar snacks. Read my recent review here. Also new is Tuttle Wines, a project from Barnaby Tuttle of Teutonic Wines. After 20 years of winemaking, Barnaby spent the last three years working on this secret project, resulting in nine new wines that are more textural and broody than the Alpine-style wines he’s known for. Taste these wines for yourself Saturday and Sunday at Teutonic.
If you’re looking for an excuse to get out of town, Landmass Wines is holding its annual Harvest Party on Sunday in Cascade Locks. Their production facility will be open from 2 to 6 pm, with Dream Deli serving seasonal sandwiches, sides, and sweets alongside the wine.
It’s also Portland Staycation and Geek Week, with events happening all over the city, including Rose City Comic Con and the Sneaky Sasquatch Art Hunt. From exploring somewhere new in Portland to finding something new and nerdy, there are plenty of ways to spend your weekend.
While this newsletter is where you’ll find the most comprehensive list of Portland wine events, Instagram is where I share what I’m seeing in real time. Follow along for daily updates, photos from tastings and festivals, and a behind-the-scenes look at Portland’s wine community at @pdxvineanddine.

Burgundy Thursday at Heavenly Creatures: Every Thursday, the fantastic team at Heavenly Creatures pours two or three standout Burgundies by the glass. Whether it's a renowned winemaker or a legendary vineyard site, you’re in for something special.
The Scout: Most Thursdays, this cozy shop in Gresham hosts winemaker-led tastings. They also host live music weekly, have featured artists, and a book club!
Company: Most Thursdays, this spot just off Belmont hosts winemaker-led tastings. They also have $10 pours on Tuesdays, monthly music nights and reading events, definitely worth checking out!
