Hello inquisitive wine drinkers,
Welcome to the Portland Wine Events newsletter!
Every week, I’ll share the latest wine events happening in Portland, including tastings, special dinners, pairings, and wine festivals. As a subscriber, you’ll get my honest take on which events are worth your time, plus a heads-up on upcoming events in the following weeks.
If you’ve found this newsletter helpful, I’d be so grateful if you shared it with someone else who loves wine as much as you do!
Newsletter Highlights
This is a big weekend for wine parties! On Friday, both Rubato and The Marigny are celebrating their wines. Rubato, a brand-new project, is releasing its first wines with two events: a tasting at The Wine Yard alongside friends Division Winemaking and Limited Addition, followed by a party at Daydream with food from Based General Store.
The Marigny is celebrating 10 years of winemaking with a party at Heavenly Creatures featuring a special welcome pour, red beans and rice, and a live DJ. Andy makes incredible wines that highlight the best of what intentional farming in the Willamette Valley can produce. If you can’t make it tonight, keep an eye out for his wines around town.
Outside the wine world, it’s also the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival and Portland Pride this weekend! If you’re heading to the jazz fest, stop by 45th Parallel for your picnic needs and a break from the heat. The festival will also be live-broadcast all weekend on local radio station KBOO. Going to Pride? Look for Hip Chicks Do Wine near the South Stage on the Waterfront.
Busy this weekend, but still looking for other wine events to attend? The Upcoming Special Events section of this newsletter is packed with ways to sip beyond the city. Check it out each week to stay up-to-date on all the wine-tasting adventures, from outdoor festivals to neighborhood wine walks!

Recurring Weeknight Tastings
Parallel Wine Bar: Test your skills with a blind tasting flight every Sunday.
Wine Wednesday at Negociant: A themed tasting in their back room. I highly recommend going early to catch their oyster happy hour—some of the best in town and the perfect match for a crisp white wine or bubbles.
Wine Wednesday at Living Room Wines: Sometimes, it’s a featured winemaker or import company; other times, it’s a casual (and often free) tasting. Either way, it’s always a great midweek stop for discovering something new.
Burgundy Thursday at Heavenly Creatures: Every Thursday, the fantastic team at Heavenly Creatures pours two or three standout Burgundies by the glass. Whether it's a renowned winemaker or a legendary vineyard site, you’re in for something special.
Company: Most Thursdays, this cozy spot just off Belmont hosts winemaker-led tastings. They also have music nights and reading events—definitely worth checking out!
Mayfly: This bar near Kenton Park in North Portland has something happening every night from Tuesday to Sunday. Keep an eye out for their next wine-tasting event!
Thank you so much for subscribing! I hope you have a great weekend drinking wine!
